On June 15th and 16th, World Domination, Inc. proudly presents IT’S A FEST! A brand new 2-day beachside rock festival on Muui Island’s Hanagae Beach. With nearly 20 bands, beach bungalows, camping, bbq, bonfires…. IT’S A FEST! has everything you need to start your summer right.
Located just off the coast of Incheon, Muui Island is the perfect weekend destination from Seoul. Don’t have a car? No problem. Muui Island is easily reached by public transportation. All you need is your T-Money card. Have a car? Great! Drive to the island on the new bridge connecting it to the mainland (scheduled to open in April) or bring your car across on the ferry. Once you’re there, there are plenty of choices for where to stay. Rent one of the bungalows right on the beach. Reserve a room at one of the many pensions located just up the road. Or just bring a tent, and choose your spot on the beach or in the adjacent woods. Hanagae Beach has public bathrooms, sinks with potable water, and showers for you to use during your stay.
Once you arrive, IT’S A FEST! will keep you entertained with some of the best punk, ska, and alternative bands Korea has to offer along with some special guests from outside of Korea. There will be live music all afternoon and evening on Saturday and again Sunday morning and afternoon. That will give you plenty of time to get there before things start on Saturday and get back home to relax Sunday night.
In between, you’ll have more than 24 hours to enjoy a great weekend on Muui Island. Check out the bands. Ride the 400-meter oceanside zipline. Go for a hike in the woods. Walk along the mountainside boardwalk. Rent an ATV. Enjoy the local restaurants and cafes. Dig for clams and bbq them at your campsite. Or just relax and have a drink on the beach with some friends.
It may all sound too good to be true, but get ready for more good news. IT’S A FEST! is a free festival. There are no expensive tickets to buy. Hanagae Beach charges some small fees for getting onto the beach, renting bungalows, and camping, but the actual festival is 100% free for anyone on the beach on June 15-16.
